My GP referred me to Spire Hartswood Hospital where I was seen by Mr Mazis.
On seeing Mr Mazis he immediately diagnosed the condition, commonly known as “Viking’s Disease” or Dupuytren’s contracture and explained in reassuring detail, how the procedure to remove the constriction in my right hand little finger would be undertaken The small 60 minute operation was carried out under a local by Mr Mazis and his team and I was able to go home a few hours later that day.

The follow up appointments with Mr Mazis have been been both very professional, friendly, informative and completed exactly as described by him earlier. including the full use of my hand.

I had a reverse left shoulder replacement operation in November 2021 and was discharged from the clinic in December 2022, the op was very successful as I have regained full use of my arm which I am obviously very pleased about.

I had my left shoulder replaced in June. Dr Mazis was my surgeon and I can truly say that I could not have asked for a better surgeon.He went over all my options,pros and cons,and never had any issues with explaining things in simpler terms, repeating himself or answering any questions I had.His level of patience is amazing,and he always made me feel at ease.Then I had my right shoulder replaced at the end of November and if he wasn’t going to be my surgeon I would have not had my operation.There was no doubt that the only person I trusted was him.His work is amazing and has given me a whole new lease of life. I suffered a very complex shoulder injury following a nasty 40mph motorcycle crash, my shoulder joint was no longer recognisable and I lost the ability to use my arm.

Dr Mazis has completed 3 surgeries for me, bringing me back to 100% use, without impingement or pain. The result is astounding considering how badly I was broken.

Throughout all of our interactions he was willing to spend as much time as I wished to explain what was going to happen, how it would happen and the risks. At no point did he rush me, he was always willing and very capable of explaining things in a way I would understand. I was operated on by Mr Mazis 13 months ago, I found him to be very approachable and communicative before and after the procedure. I had a serious full thickness rotator cuff tear and other issues requiring quite a lot of surgery. I cannot thank you enough Mr Mazis for what you did for me. I was back playing tennis 6 months post op and am now playing 3 times a week. I have almost full movement and little or no pain. I would very much of liked to have had a follow up appointment to thank you personally but the present situation precluded that possibility. Thank you for giving me back the ability to enjoy my sport.
